Medicare Plan N is an additional product designed to help pay for the out-of-pocket expenses not covered by Medicare Parts A and B. It helps fill in the gap for your hospital, medical, and skilled services. It is currently one of the most affordable Medicare supplement plans.
Medigap Plan N covers all the same benefits as Plan F except:
Excess charges are the difference in cost between what a health provider charges for a medical service and the Medicare-approved amount. Medigap Plan N will not cover the $20 co-pay or co-insurance for a doctor’s office and $50 emergency room visits. Plan N has a lower premium than Plans A through G. For someone who is relatively healthy Plan N can save you a great deal of money every year. On the other hand, if you are more on the unhealthy side, spending a little more and going with a more comprehensive policy that has little or no co-pays and deductibles like Medicare Supplement Plan F would be a better choice for you.
When looking for Medicare Plan N, the costs may vary between one company and another, but coverage and benefits remain the same. You should look for the one with the lowest possible price. The chart below shows the coverage and benefits for Medicare Supplemental Plan N. The chart will show both what is and is not covered by this Plan N Policy.
