Medicare Supplemental Plan D is NOT prescription drug coverage. If you are looking for prescription drug insurance, that would be classified under the "Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Program". A Medigap Plan D policy supplements most of the gaps in Medicare coverage with the exception of the Part B deductible and any excess charges. These exceptions need to be paid out of pocket so you will be responsible for these costs.
MMedigap Plan D is a very good option for great investments of your premium dollar when purchasing Medigap insurance since the exceptions rarely cost that much to be a burden. There is no out-of-pocket maximum in Medigap Plan D.
Always take into account that plans are designed by CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services). The coverage of each plan is the same, whatever company you choose. The only difference is their offered price
